Even if you aren't interested in the campaign, feel free to join and learn more about the lore and world surrounding Scarab and its history as the town of isolation.
🪲 The Story So Far... 🪲
Centuries ago, the prosperous city of Welstaf constructed a bridge across The Cut, a great chasm spanning miles in every direction. On the other side they found a barren wasteland known as Hell's Asylum: Sandstorms ravage this lifeless land, where the only landmarks are massive, rounded stone caves that resemble the corpses of gigantic beetles.
Welstaf sent a mining colony across the bridge to attempt to cut into one of these 'beetles', and found that the inside was hollow, containing water, flora, and all the essentials of life including natural light in the form of blue crystals. However, their initial attempts at colonization failed as their citizens were too reluctant to live so isolated from the outside world, trapped in Hell's Asylum as prisoners of Scarab, the failed colony.
Years later, Scarab now serves as just that, a prison town where outcasts of Welstaf are sent to die. However, Scarab has its own society, its own rules, and its own natural heirarchy. Some children are born in Scarab and never see the light of day.
Will you cut the path of a Human Exile, desperate to return to Welstaf's prosperous noble court?
Will you take a shot as a Bouncer Vagabond, lackadaisically parading about Scarab without a concern in your skull?
Or do you prefer the ways of the Snoutman Looter, unleashing rage upon your opposition as an unstoppable force of beligerent vengeance?

Also here's some basic lore about the four races:
Humans are just humans.
Woodcages have wooden armor that protects them, however attacks that burn (such as the hand cannons wielded by Vagabonds) are very effective against them. They can gather energy from the sun and the crystals around Scarab, but their armor can be clunky and get in the way of daily life.
Snoutmen are empathetic to others, and tend to be faithful, but they falter against piercing attacks. Snoutmen are considered dangerous due to their claws and struggle to keep their high emotions in check, but are generally actually quite nice people.
Bouncers are quick and resemble humans at a glance, but their bodies are rubbery and can stretch. They have high stamina, but are weak to slashing attacks.
